| Try out our new sound We’ve been upgrading our audio system and welcome you to come enjoy the new setup! We have more microphones, a new mixer, and PA which allows us cover more of the room with better sound. We were able to make these improvements thanks to your ongoing support and the recent Small Arts & Culture grant from Fred W. Fields Fund of Oregon Community Foundation. We are all so grateful! |
| First Fridays Mark your calendars for First Fridays where we support our local artists in our East Creative building. Come out and browse great art with a little background jam music every first Friday of the month, 6-9pm. |
| Studio jams for all levels Join us for jams open to ALL singers, players, and abilities, all located at our Madison Studio at 211 SE Madison Street in Portland. Our Wednesday jam is aimed at beginners. Mask up and visit on the days that work best for you, and we’ll adjust the jam theme to the group’s interests. | Themed jams NINJAM during Deep Groove Jam Mondays NINJAM is an online format which allows distanced musicians to play repeated musical phrases asynchronously together. This creates easy-to-access familiar jam experiences while staying online and distanced. We’ll play as usual in the studio from 6-8pm on Mondays, and our NINJAM musicians can join us online from 6:30-7:30. Visit our NINJAM page for info on setting up distance play sessions. Monday NINJAM 6:30-7:30pm, Madison Street Studio, 211 SE Madison St Portland RSVP on the Meetup.com calendar Improvise on Mondays Create melodic riffs and improvise free from charts and planning as we make it music on the spot. If you know chords on your instrument and can follow basic rhythm, improv creates memorable blends while stretching musical wings alongside others! Improv Jam 8-10pm, Madison Street Studio, 211 SE Madison St Portland RSVP on the Meetup.com calendar Back-to-basics on Wednesdays If you are new to making music live with others, then the open Wednesday jam is the perfect place to answer basic questions about what and how to play together. Also learn the basics of reading our easy song charts in the bsteele Music App library (requires a name and no password) with nearly 1400 songs to sing and play! 7-9:30pm, Madison Street Studio, 211 SE Madison St Portland RSVP on the Meetup.com calendar COVID-conscious jams on Saturdays By popular demand, this jam requires masks and proof of vaccination. Keep your groove going with simple classic songs that work for the level of everyone in the group.
