Support the arts, sing at First Fridays tonight
Come sing and support the arts with us at “live karaoke” at First Fridays tonight. This event is hosted by our neighboring artists at East Creative Collective at our building at 211 SE Madison Street Studio. Some of our musicians will be backing singers with familiar songs at the Community Jams studio from 6-8pm while artists showcase their work in and around our building. CJ Open Access Time every other Mon/Wed
| Discuss any and all topics involving music and Community Jams at our studio during Office Hours every other Monday (Feb 13) at 5pm and every other Wednesday (Feb 8) at 6pm. Questions about charts? Finding a key? What jam fits your time and interests? What instrument to play? Greeters at the studio
| Greeters at the studio will be watching for arrivals at the door at jams and offering assistance to interested musicians arriving at our Madison Street studio. Greeters will be wearing a bright vest and carrying a flashlight. Greeters will also offer the option to escort and assist with gear on departure. Glam jamming encouraged Wednesdays and Saturdays
We’re spicing up our Wednesday and Saturday Social Jams by encouraging glamming up for some of our meetups. Glamming is always optional at any jam, but especially welcome on Wednesdays and Saturdays as we emphasize getting playful and relaxed! Come and hear the difference! RSVP
Jams for all levels
Join us for jams open to ALL singers, players, and abilities, all located at our Madison Studio at 211 SE Madison Street in Portland. Our Wednesday jam is aimed at beginners. Mask up and visit on the days that work best for you, and we’ll adjust the jam theme to the group’s interests. Here are the open jam times:
Saturdays (Social/Glam Jam) – 2-4pm – RSVP
Saturdays (Collaboration for Experienced Regulars) – 5-7pm every other week – RSVP
Mondays – 6pm, – RSVP
Wednesdays (Explorer/Glam Jam) – 7pm – RSVP
Thursdays – 7pm – RSVP

Themed sessions
Improvise on Mondays
Create melodic riffs and improvise free from charts and planning as we make it music on the spot. If you know chords on your instrument and can follow basic rhythm, improv creates memorable blends while stretching musical wings alongside others!

Back-to-basics on Wednesdays
If you are new to making music live with others, then the Explorer Wednesday jam is the perfect place to answer basic questions about what and how to play together. Also learn the basics of reading our easy song charts in the bsteele Music App library with over 1500 songs to sing and play! 7-9:30pm, Madison Street Studio, 211 SE Madison St Portland

Collaboration on Saturdays
Familiar, seasoned players are invited to collaborate on song projects for Saturdays at the studio. Singers and instrumentalists need to work together ahead of time to select songs from the library and prepare their parts for a unique blend of focused teamwork!
